- Go to We Learn By Doing
Good evening
We do learn by doing. I am a creature of habit, and the more I follow my life path the more I learn along the way. I relate to this all too well. I find comfort in nature and the woodland creatures.

Pat.....
.....I loved my mom and dad so much and loved being with them, but I also loved being outdoors in the woods, or playing games, or by myself learning new things, exploring. I mostly learned to read by myself with a little help from Mom when I was stuck. Dad also loved to teach us special things like Astronomy, poetry, Bible verses, meanings of big words, words from other languages, etc.

Mother had a really bad menopause, she had fibroids and almost bled out on us. I was 9 and nobody told me why Mother might die. Her sister, and my big sister were busy cutting up old sheets and towels but no one told me why or what was wrong. It was one of my worst times. When I was told a couple of years later I didn't show it, but I was angry inside me for years.

Good Morning
I think life can be hard for Moms and kids too. I believe when we grow up we understand a little more about life and why things happened the way they did.

I can so related to this! The New Jersey woods were my refuge, too, from parents who could not be pleased and never failed to override my feelings and ideas with their intractable expectations. It was quite a different forest, but still, a safe place.

Re: CCT
What was tough growing up became a blessing later in life, as I was able to understand what others had gone through and offer comfort. I realize now that we did have our
mother's love. She fought for us against all odds, even though we had no way to appreciate it at the time. It's hard to be a kind and gentle example when life is kicking you in the teeth.

Poor Mum we know what she went through.
A lesser person would have given up.
Perhaps if she had shared her secret with you
it would have made all the difference.
Obviously it was bewildering to a young person
and of course you had your own way of dealing with
life. You should have had your Mother's love
and I can feel sorry for that little girl. 🌺
