Sherri....
.......Seldom do I ever make fried green tomatoes the way you are supposed to do with them....it is just too much trouble. I like to be simple in my cooking. I just dice a firm green tomato along with an onion, carrots, celery, cabbage, garlic Any kind of veggie at all and saute the veggies in butter or such and then throw them all into rice I have just cooked, salt, pepper, and favorite seasonings like cayenne. The green tomatoes add just a bit of sour taste that I love.
