Re: Pat
Pat I remember a man taking his three children strawberry picking.
As they entered the field he spoke to them./ ' Now you can eat as many as you like
but don't you dare ask for one after I have paid for our basketfuls. 🌺🌺

Re: Good afternoon Sherri
Yes you are very good at making delicious meals. I love potato's fried.
We had potatoes mashed with salmon as kids at school ,most hated it.

Re: FS
Yes one does not want afflicted birds messing on soft fruit. Wash everything of course.

Bird flu is a big problem in the United States as well. There's been a lot of it the past couple of years.

Mother grew so many of our vegetables and she would give half of her produce to the workman's wife who was always someone different every couple of years.

Good afternoon
Potatoes are one of my favorite accompaniments to a meal. There are so many ways to prepare them that they never get boring. I like to add garlic and herbs to the small red potatoes, and I make fully loaded-mashed potatoes. Growing up, we always had fried potatoes and onions for both breakfast and dinner. As for that salmon, I do not like it from a can or in patties. Grilled with lemon and dill or with a teriyaki glaze is my go-to for the gamey fish. 🐟

I remember planting potatoes in mother's garden when I was a kid - and setting up the framework for pole beans, picking strawberries at a local commercial farm where we got paid 5 cents a quart during the 3-week ripening season & made money to help pay for our next year's school clothes. Kids weren't catered to in those days - they worked and helped keep the family going. I think it is a very good thing for building character. And of course, we did chomp down on a few ripe strawberries right off the vine, too.
