Re: Kabu, Lord Sandwich didn't name it, he launched the idea.

Before the Earl of Sandwich gave his name to the concept, man put meat and cheese between slices of bread because it was an easy way for field workers and travelers to eat. But it didn’t have a formal name: “bread and cheese” or “lamb in pita” was all the description required. The Earl didn’t name the sandwich, but by being the first in London to specifically order meat served between two slices of bread so that he could eat with one hand while continuing to gamble with the other, he launched the demand for what became known as the sandwich.

BJ's Brewhouse makes the best French dip with lots of prime rib, a horse-radish sauce on a toasted hoagie roll, and au jus that is not over-salty. That's my current favorite, but kinda pricey. 🎇

I believe the Word sandwich comes from Lord Sandwich in England because he liked to have his mutton between two slices of bread.
