I had a friend in college who fancied himself a clever sort of undercover type cop or spy or... just cool and street-wise, who always sat in a corner facing outwards.

.....Oh Yeah....
.....I've been in that saloon where he died the death of a rag doll. We took our four boys a lot of places. They loved vacation time each year.

Good afternoon
Fascinating. I never would have guessed. Thanks for the backstory on the origin and the significance of the Dead Man's Hand moniker. ♠️♣️

It seems a reasonable assumption. A bit of a nerve-racking occupation in those days.🌺🌺

I am no card player but one time when the Greek was playing, I was the perfect sidekick. He lost hand over hand and they were playing for big stakes. Then his last hand he cleaned up the table. He was such a cool player, he knew where every card was after the first round each hand. I was perfect as a side kick because I was scared stiff; he was wasting all our money!!

Good Morning
Pat, I had never heard this before. I found it very interesting. I have to remember where to sit next time I go out.

Good Afternoon
Thanks for the new knowledge. I have never been much of a card player. However, I am a movie lover, especially Westerns. My father always taught me not to sit with my back at the door when I go to clubs. My wife also never likes to sit with her back to the door. interesting.
