Age and shear tiredness brings wisdom--so  this year I have limited my plant-buying because experience tells me by end of summer I will be tired of daily watering if it can't be done in a few minutes. I have to carry jugs of water to them, there's no hose to stand around with.

Yes a shame you did not have your own little patch. I am afraid I have become lazy or something I used to put photos of the flowers on here but I never seem to get the time somehow. I wish you could smell my pinks they really do have a enticing scent.🦋🦋

Re: Pat

Yes Pat I used to grow strawberries and veg. for sale so I still retain a bit of longing for it.

I am just waiting to see how Archie makes out. if it is not so good I must seriously think

of cutting  the work load. My brother fell into a green house and never recovered

one always has that on ones mind.🌺🌺

Re: Good afternoon Sherri

Goodness that sounds terrible we rarely see a rabbit and I do not think that I have ever

seen a lanternfly. Could you not eat a rabbit we used to like them until myxomatosis. 🦋🦋

Re: Kabu

Best years have gone Helen. 1950 onward were great. The Baby boom coming into fruition . The council houses given to single mothers. Who wanted a lazy chap around if a house was on offer, I remember a woman telling me a young woman had moved in  next door.

She thought she might help her and offered her a carpet. No thank you was the reply

the house has been carpeted all over. You see many were getting things for nothing

new cars if one was a bit of an invalid. It was resented of course by the workers. .

It is a long story.

Re: Good Evening

Lo Goldiec it is strange though the sun comes up and then it feels cold. I am pleased though it is not much fun holding a hose for 2to 3 hours in hot sunshine.🦋🦋

Moody Weather🪅

Well running a household, looking after kids, pets, gardening are all a lot of work and require dedication and love. 🌸🌺

Good Evening

Your temperatures sound nice compared to the muggy temps we've been dealing with all day.  When Sadie went outside she came in and laid down on the kitchen floor where it's cooler.  She was so hot.  We've had rain off and on throughout the day.

I could do with a cool few days and some rain would be nice. Wow but 'the Old Dart" has got expensive. I couldn't afford to go there now; it is good to know that for I get so homesick for the Mother country as my Mother used to call it. My London is gone forever though.

Good afternoon

A nice chill to break the summer heat would be a welcome treat. The slugs, insects, and rabbits have been hell on some of my flowers. The bunnies wiped out my blueberries, then started working on my Rose of Sharon flower. We had to put up chicken wire to protect them. The Lanternflies are the worst. They not only kill plants, they leave behind a sap-like residue in their path.

I have a feeling I am a few months away from putting on my winter coat.

There's something satisfying about gardening, whether it is flowers for beauty or veggies for food. Just being able to make them thrive is an accomplishment and there's the fresh air and exercise boost as well. I hope Archie feels good again very soon.

C_C_T.....I love hearing about your gardening life.

......When I lived in our own home with room for gardening I spent a lot of time doing that.  I loved having our own flowers, our own tomatoes, my own herb garden, etc.  Then, when the boys were grown I began living in Apartment complexes where the grounds were cared for by others and I have gotten lazy.
