I am no longer worrying about the earth heating up too hot to live here and a terrible lack of oxygen. Plant trees, fill the deserts with trees. Conserve water and desalinate and pump the water inland so trees and vegetation can grow. in a few years the desalination pumps can stop because the trees and vegetation will change the climate and rain will fall, and temps will drop.

Good afternoon
I watched a documentary years ago about underground bunkers in Utah built for the wealthy to live in once the apocalypse is here. As for cooler weather, yay! It is much more comfortable here in Pittsburgh today after it rained yesterday, and we are expecting more rain this week along with tornadoes. I guess you can't win them all. Enjoy your day.

The problem with underground living would be that plants / food doesn't grow without sunlight. The idea does offer some interesting ideas for sci-fi stories, perhaps some scary villainous worm people, or a new specie of flying bats...

Derinkuyu underground city - Wikipedia
This has fascinated me since I first heard of it. One theory is that it was built to escape heat.

The only movie I know that dealt with the idea of living underground was Deep Impact, the result of which would have come from a comet hitting the earth. That does sound like an interesting concept.

I think one of the many problem we would face is firstly water and secondly food. Obviously it would somehow have to be grown artificially. I expect the survivors would be the very rich and live in man made caves possibly drilled to accommodate them in the coolest parts of the hot world. Do have an ice cream.

As if you didn't have enough to think about with this heat wave, etc., I saw a science article that says the earth's core rotation is slowing down and this may change the length of a day for the earth. Trying to figure out if this means more days in a year, or less, and if it will have any impact on how we figure out how old we are. It's boggling.
