Fascinating!  The ship your hubby served on is the new Saratoga. The original from the 1930s had been damaged in WWII and was targeted at Bikini Atoll during atom bomb experiments.

Good morning

This is such a sweet story, and I imagine the picture of them is even sweeter. My hubby was deployed to the US Saratoga in 1986 or 1987, and he went to boot camp in San Diego after enlisting with the Navy. Regular smile
