Re:

I grew up on a farm where this was Mother's Mondays and mine too until the Rural Power came through. Mother always wore an apron over her clothes so they didn't look dirty.

In the olden days, pioneer times, laundry was done in a galvanized washtub set astraddle a couple of sawhorses, probably in cold water, using a bar of homemade lye soap and a washboard. It would have been rinsed in a similar tub, then hung on the line to dry. This might have taken all afternoon if there was a bit of a breeze and some sunshine, the line strung between two trees, or on a line nailed between the back of the house and a nearby shed. And then there would be the ironing - a whole 'nother procedure that involved heating the iron on the woodstove. Folks wore their everyday clothes for several days, saving the freshly laundered items as go-to-meeting clothes on Sunday.

Good morning

I am happy your family had fun celebrating Natasha's big day with good food and a nice day. What is it with crazy people and guns? So many things are unsafe now due to the uncertainty of safety when attending these events.

It sounds like a great bbq/party! We're heading out to one this afternoon, a client-appreciation event from a business with whom I'm a client.

There has been too much permission and encouragement these past several years for chaotic, self-indulgent, lawless behavior. It's a reflection of the difference between a Trump world and the one most of us live in.

Yes very wise enjoy your time with your loved ones. It is surprising how washing mounts up.

I don't think folk could have washed  clothes so much in the old days.🌺
