How interesting! I think people were much healthier in their eating habits then. Even though I’m Italian we didn’t have pizza until I was in high school, I think.

I forgot to add that I hope you write more about your school days and the details of the history of places where you lived, shopped, worked, and ate. It is both educational and fascinating to learn about how people lived their daily lives when the times were more down to earth, people made do, and they had common sense.

                    Good afternoon

I really enjoy reading your stories about your life. How you describe places, events, and people makes me feel I am there. I can visualize you having that first slice of pizza in that Italian-American-themed pizza shop. It is one of my favorite foods, made even better when eaten with the added ambiance. Your story reminded me of my husband, who had never eaten nachos until I made them for him when he was 21. He was born and bred in southwestern Pennsylvania, far away from any type of Mexican cuisine.

I agree with you - we have had the best that was on offer. And during the tough times we always had hope that everything would get better.  Peace!

They do seem all the rage if the adverts are too be believed. At this moment I fancy one of those long sugared donuts filled with real cream if there is such a thing. I think Pat that our taste buds do not excite like they used to do. Isn't strange how things have changed in a life time which I suppose is no time at all in the grand scheme of things. I think in a way we have had the best that was on offer as grim as it was at times.  🌺🌺
