Good Morning
I had to smile when you mentioned beans today. Yesterday I made a huge pot of baked beans. If you lived closer I could share some with you! They are so good. I used an old family recipe from a friend. I love green beans too. I had a friend who used to make green beans with potatoes and bacon grease. I knew it was not healthy for us but it really was delicious. That was back in the day. I hope you have a good day. It's very hot here and my window units are being installed tonight. I could not take the heat. Our little dog Sadie is having a hard time with the heat too!

Re: Kabu
Hi Baby . My Brother the Doctor of Philosophy is fifteen years younger than me. Yes you are possibly quite a toughy. Of course we are all living longer and getting wiser, Ha, ha.
It is sad in a way my cousin's wife has been in a near coma for ten years.
It has to be paid for and her daughters will not benefit at all. I expect eventually
the house will be sold and all will be reclaimed. Her husband visits nearly every day.
He just cannot give his consent to allow nature to take its course.

Re: Good afternoon
A wise move Sherri along now some folk start to think birds do not need feeding, so rats who have enjoyed mid-night feasts start to explore other potential avenues. Last year one somehow got in my tunnel and ate my prize Melon. Most use poison, but I have installed
electrical beepers which are supposed to deter all vermin. We shall see. 🦋

Re: Pat
Well Pat the dopies in charge should have banned bird tables. What an ideal way to spread disease with bird flu ravaging the country. I have magpies, robins, and a few others they are extremely nervous, I think instinct tells them not to visit Bird table perhaps they can smell a rat. 🌺

Re: Evening Mike
I try to grow the long white-flowered stringless runner beans up canes.
My helper grows red-flowered runner beans because they are more prolific.
The problem will be if we get hot summers due to climate, they may not
be quite as tender in the future. Of course, one eats the whole bean with the
sides stripped on the red variety. Cheers

Evening
Are stick beans equivalent to snap beans? My grandmother used to cook snap beans. I have yet to taste snap beans as good as my grandmother's. She grew them in her garden those were the freshest beans I have ever tasted. I don't think I have ever visited a restaurant that serves cooked snap beans.

I have never had a bird table, and 2 years ago our city council banned hanging bird feeders in yards inside the city because the dropped seeds attracted skunks and rodents. But there's no rule against tossing peanuts in the yard for the squirrels, so I do that. New neighbor next door set up a bird feeder - didn't know it was banned - so I've been enjoying the birds that flock to her feeder. Haven't noticed any skunks. I hope your beans produce a bumper crop.

Good afternoon
I have never grown beans. We plan to plant our tomatoes, peppers, and herbs tomorrow. I am slowly running out of yard space, but I'd love to grow some corn and strawberries. Bird tables are not a smart way of interacting with birds. As much as I love my feathered friends, they are disease carriers. That is why I have several feeders I hang from our Japanese Maple tree, away from the house. The seed droppings bring furry creatures, including mice.

Call a medical library at a University. I am sure they will come and collect the medical books even it they put them in a basement somewhere. Antiques used to be so expensive, I bought a few for my kids to enjoy or sell for heaps more than I paid. Oh well, nothing stays in fashion for long. Sorry the family are all getting old, most of my closer relatives have long gone. I was the baby of my generation.
