I heard about the earthquake but did not feel it, although some Marylanders did. I have been in light ones. I cannot imagine one that severe.

Lo Taps

Once and it was a time ago I felt a Tiny Earthquake. It was a horrible feeling.

So I would never live in Earthquake terrority if could avoid it.

Of course some have no other option. 🌺🌺

Good evening

Thankfully, the 2024 east coast quake was a minor one with no major damage reported. I believe that it was 4.8. Regardless, they are scary to experience. We lived in southern California in 1992 during the Big Bear and Lander's earthquakes which had magnitudes of 6.5 and 7.3.

years ago when I was in Sydney there was an earthquake, the epicenter was further North, but my building was swaying like that. My Kittie of that era kept hiding under the bed then dashing out and jumping into my arms , then back under the bed. Four minutes can seem like forever when one is scared. Not me My Kittie.

Re: Pat -- I've only experienced tremors.....

.....There were quite a few tremors in Oklahoma when I would visit my Grandma.   The only way I could tell was that the rocking chairs on the front porch would start rocking by themselves when no one was in them.

I grew up in Western Washington state, worked for several years in Seattle. Earthquakes are not that uncommon as the coast is on a major geological faultline. I was in a 6.7 level quake in Seattle about 20 years ago, and it is unnerving. But not as nerve-wracking as being in the Midwest when tornado warning sirens go off and the storm is all around you. It's good that no one was killed & this east coast quake didn't cause major damage.
