Sorry this happened to your son. I'm happy to hear no one was hurt. Your record still stands though.

Pat, I'm sorry this happened but I'm glad everything is working out okay.  Thankfully you have good insurance.  I hope you have a good day.

It is nice to have decent insurance. Folk have to take a test here if it warrants it. My B.I.L
had to take a test, he could not read a number plate at the prescribed distance, So that was it🌺😒. >>

State Farm did right by us in the past. They are one of the best.

Just heard from the claims dept at State Farm. My liability insurance covers all damage to the other vehicle, thank heavens. Also said mine should be repairable, probably won't be totaled unless the damage is too great.  Good news!

I forgot to add that I love your usage of the word kerfuffle. Judge Judy uses that term quite often.

Wow! Talk about speaking something into existence. I am so sorry that this happened to you. Thankfully, nobody was hurt, and State Farm works fast. Hopefully, because your car is twenty years old they do not deem it totaled due to the age. That happened to us a few years ago when a woman t-boned my 2003 Cavalier. We ended up buying a new car, but it turned out to be a happy accident. Good luck to you.
