Those were some intense and rough days back then. I wonder how I would have done right after The Great Depression.

I am loving this. My parents waited years
through the Depression before they could marry. There was land that the older brothers had mortgaged to the hilt. A portion of it was Dad's but it didn't have a house on it. Dad always said if they had nothing at all they would have married or if there was no mortgage they would have married.Â

Good afternoon
This is a really cool recollection from days gone by. It's hard to make money as a cook in an empty restaurant. God bless him for trying anyway during such a depressed time. I haven't heard the word hootenanny in years. My pop-pop used to use that word to describe the local yocals who came to town during the bluegrass festivals.
