Good Morning

Pat, I would love to have some of your Mama's blackberry jam on a piece of toast.  I'm sure it was the best jam anywhere.  I've always loved jam.  I would pick jam over jelly any day of the week.  Now that I've read this post I have to go in search of some blackberry jam.  I just wrote it on my grocery list.  I hope you have a wonderful day.  We are going to have a warm day in the city which I'm thankful for in February.

You make me think of My darling Mother. She was uncanny in somehow knowing exactly where to find wild mushrooms and just when we should collect them. She knew where and when to pick blackberries [in a small wood]

Good afternoon

I want to go to this place that you describe as being as close to heaven as humanly possible. I used to go berry picking in Oregon when I was a teenager. John did it here in Pennsylvania when he was a kid. He would sell the quarts of blackberries that he picked to his neighbor ladies so that they could make pies, jam, and cobbler. They would later invite him back to enjoy a piece of his labor. Regular smile

Pat

What a beautiful picture of young life in days gone bye.  I loved the times I lived in back then.
