Re: I have to agree with Sea_Gypsy
This was a fun read. I love these kinds of posts that include history, facts, and the world that you grew up in.

Good afternoon
IMHO, it is one of the best inventions after sliced bread and electricity.

I
I certainly remember the ink well on my desk in grade school but we never used them for anything. It was pencil and Big Chief tablets for everything. My Dad had ink in his roll-top desk and a huge ink-blotter. He had beautiful hand writing and loved his fountain pen. He would not change to ball point until the fine-line Zebra pens came out.

Super-fun post to read, Pat! Twelve dollars in 1945 would be worth $204.50 today, according to an inflation calculator. Wow!

Good Morning
Pat, thanks for sharing this post. I loved it. I've always been fascinated by pens. It's nice to know the history. I think $12 was very expensive back in the day. To this day I love fine writing pens, bold pens, and medium pens. I love them all! I loved crayons and markers too. I remember when I would get a new box of markers. I was so happy. I loved being creative. I would spend hours drawing.
