I think the ravens got a bad rap just because they are the same color as that fellow dressed in black holding a big scythe. I like the way their black feathers shine.

I am confident that a crow recognizes human faces, especially those of people they see often in their neighborhood. There used to be a flock that was centered in the Beacon Hill neighborhood of Seattle, where I lived at the time. They'd announce my presence every morning as I came out my door to walk to the bus stop. It began to feel like a neighborly greeting after a couple of weeks.
