Once we bought a penny lardy now they are £1 I dare not think of cottages at v£150-- £250. As I said to my brother today a Ten pound tip is about ten shillings in old money🌺

of course if one went back with what is earned in a week now we could be rich. it is all relevant. I will never understand inflation.

Minimum wage was a dollar an hour in 1953-54, and I could get a hamburger and a cup of coffee for lunch at the company cafeteria for 35 cents.
