Re:

adnohr, I'm sorry to hear that your son and his family are leaving on Christmas Day for Japan.  I know you will have fun when everyone gets back home and you celebrate together.  I hope they share pictures for everyone to see.  How long will they be gone?

My son & family are leaving for Japan on Christmas day. My son and I am not happy about it - but it is done (booked by my DIL) and too expensive to change. Looks like we'll be celebrating our Xmas at the end of January, when the family will be complete for a delayed celebration.

Re: Good morning

Sherri, a new vacuum makes perfect sense to me.  Caeser and I were just talking about Christmas and he asked if I wanted AA or AAA batteries.  I went with AAA because that's what so many of the things we have need.  All the remotes need AAA so I thought that was the best choice.  Batteries are not a fancy gift but they sure will come in handy if we need a battery.  I've always loved getting kitchen gadgets too.  My wireless remote is in desperate need of being replaced.  I will think I hit the jackpot if I get a new wireless remote.  Michelle is getting me the new Janet Evanovich book from Amazon.  That is going to make me very happy.  I hope Santa is very good to you!

Good morning

Dark blinds will definitely help block the sun from hitting your grandson's computer and television screens. I'm happy to hear that you got your mailbox installed. I have to laugh at your simple wishes for Christmas gifts. I asked for a new vacuum. My old one is twenty years old. John about fell over from my request. He said that most women would get mad over getting a vacuum for Christmas.

Re:

FSI, I think it's so exciting to get your first Christmas tree.  I would love to see pictures of your first tree and your Dad dressed up as Santa.  It will be a fun time.

Re: I am quite the Grinch at the holiday season. Bah! Humbug! is always

Pat, I think I'm the biggest kid at Christmas.  I love the holidays.  This year will be different but I will make it nice for the kids.  I know for sure my daughter is getting me the latest Janet Evanovich book and that always makes me so happy.  She gets me a book every year.

Re: Goldiec

C_C_T, I'm always trying to be ready before the snow arrives at our doorstep.  We've been known to get some really bad snow storms.  I hope you have a good day.  I really don't want my mail blowing away.

I'm going to be getting a Christmas tree for the first time. I am doing so in exchange for my Dad dressing up as Santa at one of the car washes.

I am quite the Grinch at the holiday season. Bah! Humbug! is always

at the back of my mind. It was so joyful when the kids were little, before it all got so commercialized. I've sent gifts to grandkids in years past that were swiped by porch pirates from the mail room in their apt. building. Enough of this whining! I hope your construction project goes well, and if not in time for this holiday, you'll be all set to light up the room next year. Stay cozy.

Goldiec

Sounds a  bit like you like to prepare early. A good idea really.

I had too smile my S.I.L. has a house she rents. It had a leak in

the flat roof of an extension. She contacted a roof repair service.

They were very busy the owner called and quoted a price

she agreed and paid a deposit

the next day the roof was repaired and the bill presented.

I don't know where the busy came into it.
