Good Morning
Pat, I'm so glad you are watching your step. I always worry when it rains because the leaves on the ground can be quite slippery. I love the backyard squirrels and know they are well-fed. I wonder if it's going to be a bad winter?

Dearest do be careful. If you really fear a fall, you should be wearing one of those things around your neck that call for medical help when you can't get up. Or take in a Boarder to be with you. They could pay their rent in house work and outside clean ups.

What a job! Sounds like you could use a bit of help getting rid of some of those walnuts.

Re: TAPS
A few years back, my next-door neighbor - retired carpenter - used to do that. He'd let them dry on an old screen door he lay across a couple sawhorses. And he did have to stand guard against the squirrels for a few days. At 99, in the nursing home, his kids brought walnuts for him to crack - he had to be busy. I love to think about oatmeal cookies with walnuts. YUM!

When I was a kid, we loved shelling them and letting the dry out and then cracking and picking the, eating as we went along, but saving lots of them because we knew that Mom would make fudge with them, and oatmeal cookies with them and we loved those things. At that time there were six kids to participate. Littlest kid didn't come along until Mom was 44. By the time she was big enough to be of much help at anything the rest of us were gone.

Good morning
Knowing my luck, I would have busted my behind on those walnuts. I have become an expert when it comes to falling, banging my elbows on walls, and breaking my toes. I am happy to hear that you did not fall or get hurt due to the fur baby's stock that is scattered around your yard. As for your two opening paragraphs, I believe that we are living in a world filled with narcissists, and quite a few of the politicians are the ring leaders.
