Good morning
Your poor puppy. I hope that Sadie feels better. Tummy troubles are no laughing matter. As for beef stew, it freezes really well. I allow it to cool down and then I put it in freezer-proof containers that come with a lid. It lasts for two to three months in the freezer. When I'm ready for it, I just allow it to thaw on the counter and then heat it up on medium-low in a braiser or stock pot.

I do that sort of thing a lot when just cooking for myself. I make enough for two or more meals and freeze containers of what I don't eat at that time. I like it that way. The only problem is that most of the time I fail to put on the packet what it is. So, I have quite a few surprise meals when I thaw packets.

Pat, thanks for the tip about letting it thaw in the fridge overnight. I never thought of that.

You hit the nail on the head - cooking a batch and freezing part of the
food for later is such a great idea. Saves a lot of work later, too. I hope Sadie is okay and up to her usual tricks. Oh, and beef stew freezes well. I let it chill in Tupperware in the fridge before sticking it into the freezer, and later meal prep included letting it thaw overnight before re-heating. Since I'm cooking for one, this technique is a habit these days. Have a great day!
