Each age has its own peculiarity of stresses and throw. If you read Chaucer’s the father of English poetry - The Canterbury Tales “Whan that Aprille with his shoures soote, The droghte of March hath perced to the roote, And bathed every veyne in swich licóur” …. you’ll love it 😊

I have a fascination for archaic words. They tell a lot about the transitional phase they were going through. They had a different pronunciation which would sound funny in modern times, but invested with sweetness, so I think. ❣️
