Oh, such a treat! I always loved the free, chilled Sparkletts water in paper cups at the county fair. You could have all you wanted and it was always hot there. Here our water is so awful. Recycled to drinking grade.

Many of the pipes here were of lead. I suppose in time they may have had a natural lime coating

Good afternoon
I believe that water coolers came after my school days. I remember the old water fountains that the kids used to joke about in regards to 'trench mouth." Everyone feared getting it due to some of the students putting their mouths on the metal dispenser, possibly passing along "cooties."
