Looking Good, Humayun!

After the hurricane hit us pretty hard on August 30th, I couldn't get to the site much, but the first thing I noticed was the posting speed. Thanks for everything you have done over the years. We appreciate it.

I've been trying to bring in some 'new blood' from over on X. I've been here more on than off since October of 2002, but I love this place. Most of my 40+ short stories/novels were 'born' here, and I have always tried to thank the posters that make comments and suggestions as I go along in the "Special thanks to..." segment. This place got me through losing my first wife, and the story of finding and courting my second wife was posted here first.

I sometimes get caught up in what I do outside of "Blog-it-Ville," and I forget to thank everyone, but I am proud to be a member of this writer's cove, and thank you, Humayun and the rest of the staff for keeping the lights on for us for so many years.

Respectfully,
Verwayne Greenhoe

Re: Thank you for being as helpful as you can be.

Forgot to mention: if you'd prefer to use the original method of adding pictures, please see the Help page on adding pictures.

Re: Thank you for being as helpful as you can be.

Hi Kabu, at the moment, the easiest way to include a photo is probably to save it to your desktop, and then drag and drop it into the box on the Write page.

I'm hoping to make that easier in the future, but I'm afraid it's going to take some more work to make that happen.

Glad the new spell check is working well for you!

Thanks.

Thank you for being as helpful as you can be.

I am having trouble getting pictures onto my blog I did it once but I think it may be more my problem of remembering what I did. Oh and checking for spelling help is way easier with this. I do like that.Regular smile

Re: Re:

Thank you very much. I will try these suggestions.

The idea was to avoid line breaks. I wasn’t copying from the web but from my own older Word files - my poetry.

Re:

Thanks, Sea_Gypsy, the missing spellcheck suggestions were due to a bug that occurs on Chrome for Windows, which has been fixed.

Regarding pasting from Word, the double-spacing issue is likely due to the fact that paragraphs on the web are generally displayed with a blank line between paragraphs, while in Word they are not.

If this is the cause, one option is to use Word's Paragraph command to increase the spacing before paragraphs, so that it looks similar to the way the text will appear when pasted into Blogit.

Or, if the goal is to have lines without any space between them, please type a line break -- hold down Shift while pressing Return -- at the end of each line. This should look right on both Word and when pasted into Blogit.

Thank you, Humayan.

The new spell-check does underline when a word is misspelled but right-clicking only gives me a field with a "link" insert? I get no suggestions either. What do you suggest? I use Chrome.

Also, could you please tell me how to stop the double-spacing that happens sometimes when I post my blog written from another application, such as an older version of Word? Thank you so much.
