It was so surrealistic in its disgust devastation and the only good thing to come from it - if you can say that after such an unthinkable horror, is how beautifully we all came together as a nation.

I was still in Australia with no plans to move away. The morning after 9/11 I bought some determinedly bright happy flower plants and put them in the front garden as a sign of defiance against evil. I prayed for the USA while planting and watering them.

It is hard to beleve it is that long ago. I suppose such sadness lives on in most minds.
