Hi, to lose trust, betrayed & to be alert, cautious of others is indeed a sad situation to be in especially when we have to coexist here.The complexities of human mind/ behaviour are difficult to understand.

It comes down, I think, to people who lack empathy and therefore see other people as repositories of resources that they want for themselves without putting in the sweat to make or earn.

I've always detested liars. I remember when our friend Wiley was scammed by the grandson-in-trouble scam. Horrible. And now it seems they've put AI to work composing "seeking friends" requests on FB with links back to a fake profile. Don't know why some people just find this kind of crime appealing.

At times, I have cheated, I hate to admit. I do feel sorry for having done so...I can say I've never done anything like the phone and online scams there are these days.

Good afternoon
Taps, this is a great post that could help so many. I was scammed a few months ago on the Facebook Marketplace. I advertised a table for sale that the scammer ripped me off through the Zelle app. My bank was of no help because they said that I willingly gave the scammers my information. Live and learn.

Wiley was scammedby a group who were I believe trying a scam that others were doing...your Son is in jail we need money for a bond. He paid some of it and reported it to the police and because they gave him too much information they were found by the police and Wiley eventually got some of his money back.
