Sometimes someone with the best intentions speaks out to help other people who have not asked for their help, and makes what was an unfortunate situation into a debacle. I am deeply suspicious of vigilantes who jump in and gather a crowd based on their fears to correct something they perceive is unacceptibly wrong. It's all about fears--their vigilante agenda and in this case, the owners' agenda and what they fear, too.

So many actions have been taken that are pretty emotionally damaging, there is going to have to be some serious re-thinking, and even undoing of those actions, but that won't make them to have not happened.

I'm afraid the best that can happen now is some real change. Trust has been badly broken. I suppose it will depend on how badly people want to get comfortable again and whether the owners can own up to having made some real mistakes.
