This reminds me of when my Dad used to insert tiny cucumbers in empty ketchup bottles and grow them until they nearly filled the bottle and then put in fresh dill and pickle brine and give them to the daughters. It was a joke, but one of us got out a real skinny knife and worked at cutting it into tiny pieces that would come out so she could eat it.
