If history is an indicator, wine grapes were once grown in England before things cooled down in The Little Ice Age. Maybe you could plant a few vines.

Re: Kabu

I expect they are not getting enough moisture I would put them in the ground and

keep them watered with a drop of fertilizer. You see when you were in Canada it was

a different ball game I expect tree shade was an advantage on hot days. I have a

bed of Asters and they just stay still almost because it has been so hot and they

cannot grow much at all One or two similar ones in a shady position are growing

normally. Sadly I am too lazy or I would show you some in flower they are chocolate

colour. I don't even know if my camera is working. Or if I can remember how to do it.

Re: Good afternoon Sherri

I am afraid one has to plant seed each year. I don't know if it is too late  but I might

chance a packet that I have left. The ones I have in the tunnel are just blooming they

are a chocolate colour. I try to get the smaller varieties, with several blooms per

plant of course the commercial ones are grown for seed.

Re: Good Afternoon Goldiec

Well, it is nice to have air. We of course have not been used to hot summers.

Perhaps it is a wake-up call.  115 that is too much. Glad that you are doing alright.

One does not get over a loss easily.

Re: Taps

I think I would rather have a magpie, I did have one once. Funny thing I wrote a

poem about a rat, but I have never liked to put it on Blogit. They do climb the bird

tables at night and we always see one or two when folk stop feeding the birds along now.

Baltimore is a rat-infested city, so much so that when Trump was in office, he brought that up during a feud with a Baltimore politician...The fire comes and goes.

It has been many years since I have seen a rat and the last one I saw was a white pet rat in Floridas.  My Grandson there had a pet rat in a special cage and he would take it out of the cage at times and play with it.  He had strange ways of playing with it.  I avoided it as much as possible while I was there.  I can think of better pets.  Actually though now that I think about it, Grandson Peter as a teen had a pet Tarantulla in a bird cage, and a nephew has a huge snake for a pet.  It has it's own bedroom and bathroom and likes to spend time in the bathtub where Nephew feeds him its once a month live mouse.

Good afternoon

I hope that you get rain and it cools off.  Our temperatures are not bad but out west, they are having temperatures in the 100s and that is just too hot for me.  I know Arkansas has been as hot as 115 this summer.  I know because I have a friend that still lives there.  Today we are in the 60s and I prefer that to the extreme temperatures. We do have air but I prefer it cooler outside.

Good afternoon

I love sunflowers. We tried growing them last year, but I believe that we chose the wrong variety. They were about 6-7 feet tall with really thick stems. I would love to have sunflowers that come back every year, and maybe just a bit smaller. I love their sunny yellow coloring.

My Sunflowers started growing but seem to have stalled. I don't know if they will flower or not.
