South Australia where I grew up was strict as well. Pubs closed at 6.00pm and Never opened on Sunday. Everyone went to Church on Sunday. It was a chance for country folk, especially the women to see each other, and have a chat.Actually these days I am probably rotting!

Bed rotting sounds like what people my age do if they reside in Health Care Centers. I'm getting to like my bed a lot at strange hours for sleeping. LOL I'm also tending to more and more "recliner rotting".

Some days going back to bed is the only way to cope.
I think in Illinois the law was no alcohol sales before noon on Sunday when I first moved here in the early 1950s, but I don't remember when that changed.
