Most of our country roads were really meant for one vehicle, we used to stop if we saw someone else approaching and pull into the side.

Pat, I'm from West Virginia and there are so many country roads back there. It's amazing! It's so different than city life.

Please don't worry about "country" disappearing. Large acreages of farmland and green space, and also woodlands and forests, are fundamental to human survival.

Good morning
You grew up during an amazing time of change. I love those old country roads, but they are becoming obsolete due to the many highways that have taken their place. Eventually, there will be no more country. Our country will be filled with one paved road after the other with cities running together.

Wow, never had anything like those little verses in Rural Australia that i can remember.
We had few paved roads when I was a kid and even fewer high ways.I don't recall much of the 40's but I do the 50's.
