Van Gogh had multiple emotional diseases, including a form of deep, cyclical depression. While getting my Bachelor's degree in psychology, we spent a lot of time talking about the man.
His last words were said to have been, "La tristesse durera Toujours," or in English, "The sadness will go on forever."
His life did not need to have ended, but he had no one to talk to that could help him.

and now I am thinking of the great Painter and how he was not appreciated until after his death.
