It's hard to write a story that is fresh and exciting that holds the reader's ever dwindling attention span. Video games and permissive parents have enabled these new generations to obsess about the latest electronics and video games. I've seen and heard of many youths who just obsess and even wait in lines overnight to get the newest phone, xbox or video games.

Pat, you bring up so many good points. The old way of writing a story won't work in 2023. It's going to take a little more thought to get the attention of a reader. As far as the laws of the land I've been questioning a lot of decisions that have been made up to this point.

Basically that is what happened in Australia. There was a massacre in Tasmania at the site of the old jail where convicts were kept in the 19th century. There was a huge Australia wide buy back, and register of guns and then said guns have had to be kept in gun safes with combination lock. The kids down under go to school without worry they will be murdered in their classrooms. makes sense to me. Put children beforte Guns!!

I suppose a good story is one that the reader likes to read again. Of course if one is so called famous it is no problem. Of course one could do a Lady Godiva if a horse was available.

Good morning
Safety is a major issue for me right now since my small community has been the target of several break-ins and several homicides in the past few months. It has me rethinking relocating to a safer area if that even exists anymore. As for the good story ideas, you're right. Times have changed and so have the old ways of writing a story.
