How cruel to the hens. They always need a few minutes after laying to recover, then they will flap their wings and squawk their pride. i have seen Mother waiting for a hen on her nest pushing out that egg and then enjoy a couple of minutes of recovery with Mother gently stroking her feathers and telling her she is a good girl.
