What a great post. Though I was a stay-at-home mom until my youngest son was about 12 and I didn't need someone to constantly watch over them, I related to so much of what you said here.

Good evening
I don't believe as a parent that our children are ever far from our minds. Once a mother, always a mother. It just comes with the territory.

I always attributed that 'Children's Hour' to the wealthy upper classes who had Nannies to take care of the children and who's parents would spend one hour before their bedtime with their parents. Poor kids., no wonder they grew up rather odd humans.

It does seem that children have a good many hours, although spent in sedentary pursuits. I suppose air is not so fresh as it once was in many places. I wonder what he would have written about today's children?
