Good morning
The world needs more neighbors like George. Kind, interesting, and caring. Lewis & Clark once visited the small boro that I reside in via the Monongahela River. This was once a huge boat building port back in the late 1800s. As for Weyerhauser, step-dad #3 worked for them as a sawyer back in the 70s and 80s in Oregon.

Unless one has an extraordinary reason for it, or a logging permit, it costs about $7000 to fell a tree in Australia. Great story and I am thinking tis was your Neighbor.

Remarkable how things panned out. Not really a long time ago.
Although a pretty rapid jump in the last few decades.
Imagine trying to build a house here with wood.
I expect some committee would soon be censoring the build.
Well if one could even chop a tree down to begin with.
