My first mother in law was 6ft tall and I am 5ft1. it would have been alright, but she was a really difficult woman to deal with as well as towering over me.

Good Afternoon
Pat, I always wanted to be tall but not 6'4. That's a little too tall for me. At my tallest I was 5'4" but now I'm 5'3" according to my doctor's measurements. Being short is okay but I have so many things that I can't reach. Fortunately, Roy or another member of my family can reach what I need. My Grandson Caeser that I write quite a bit about is 6'5. He obviously did not take after me in the height department. Caeser's mother's family is tall. My neighbor is 6"7 and his wife is 5'10 but his daughter is only 5'4. My son Donnie is 5'11 and my son Mike is 5'9. Their father was almost 6'2.

In my family, people are taller with each generation. I'm 5'5" and three of my sisters were taller than me. I now have two great-nieces over six feet without shoes.

Well if one looks at doors in old houses one will note the height more or less of ones predecessors . Light and better living conditions probably promote taller.

Re: Sherri G
I think tall is beautiful. I'm average, about 5'6-1/2" (used to be 5'7" but have shrunk with age). My older sis was almost 5'10" and I always thought she was perfect.

I have never heard of a tall club. I hate being the tallest in the room which for me is usually the case. My sisters and my brother are all my height and taller, but most people are shorter than me. That's great that she found a man who was taller. When I lived out west it wasn't a problem meeting tall men. Here on the east coast for whatever reason men are shorter. Thankfully, I found a mate who is my height when we are in our stocking feet.

Good morning
At a height of 5'9," I can relate to Mary Ellen. High heels are not an option that I consider since they put me at a height 6-foot. I wear a size 11 shoe and I have a hard time finding jeans that are long enough for my 36" inseam. Dresses and skirts are always shorter on me than that on a shorter person. I am always asked by strange women at stores to grab them items from the top shelf. Being tall has some merits, but it has more downfalls...the biggest one being that you smack your head easily.
