Re: Adnohr
No, I haven't read that one. It's true though, some books stay with us. I remember very well the sisters from "Little Women," Meg, Jo, Beth and Amy from a book my aunt Ella gave me for my 9th birthday (and passed it on to my great granddaughter Kaitlin on her 9th birthday).

Good morning
I like your grandma's saying. I am not a fan of strong wind due to its damaging potential, but a soft summer breeze is always a blessing.

Well, I dislike the wind. We lived where it was windy when I was little and it reminds me of the earaches I endured. I bit of a breeze in the summer is okay. This piece was so well-written. You've captured the essence of Grandma Lucy so well.

i love a summer breeze rustling the leaves on the trees and making the flower heads nod. No I don't like dangerous winds either and yesterday and last night was very noisy outside. and cold.

I love the wind. Always, since I was a little thing. I do remember how The Lamp at Noon (by Sinclair Ross) marked me - made me think twice about when the wind could be a bad thing. Have you read it?

I always hated the wind blowing my hair in my face from the back. I always wanted Mom to braid my hair, and learned to do it myself as I got older. I still don't like the wind blowing my hair in my face. One thing that helps is that some sweet lady crocheted me some pretty caps and if I tuck my hair in them I don't mind the wind near so much.

Yes I agree the wind is a real pain. We are really in a valley so are probably sheltered
from excessive blasts and of course probably being surrounded with houses helps, a
dubious blessing of course.
