Even though I come from a gardening/canning family who never wasted anything, I always buy "baby carrots" because they are so easy. Because they are easy, I eat more carrots.

Folks who grow their own learned to peel, chop and work around
the ugly - not just carrots, but most produce. Waste was considered a sin at our house.
