I used to make my own pie crusts as well. Now I rarely make pie even with premade crusts.I'm sure they enjoyed whichever flavor you chose.

Homemade pie is so good. I can understand him not liking pumpkin pie. Maybe it has too much cinnamon for him. My husband doesn't care for turkey, never did. What's funny is when his DNA came back part Indigenous Peoples.

I use those frozen pie crusts dearest. They taste fine ...you could make a cranberry pie or an apple or pecan. I love pumpkin roasted but not in a pie.

You have made me wish that I knew how to bake a pie. I am more a roast apple stuffed with raisins very occasionally.

Thank you for your prayers. I just got word that the IV liquids and various vitamins IV are already perking her up and she is responding in a great way. Doctor is telling her she shouldn't have to stay in rehab very long.

I used to be the one to cook the big meals for Thanksgiving and Christmas and we always had a house full. I loved it but I can't do it anymore. I wear out before everything is done.

P.D. chose a Dutch Apple Pie with the crumble topping and vanilla ice cream. And of course Phil has to have a big helping of Cool Whip on top of that. I haven't had pecan pie for a long, long time. You made me drool just thinking about it.

I'll pray for your friend Taps. My Grammy is being moved to a nursing facility soon. She recently had a mini-stroke and can't live alone any longer. She's 95 years old now, so sadly, it's time. As for your pie quandry, how about an apple or cherry or blueberry? Perhaps a lemon or coconut or chocolate cream? I'm with you, frozen pie crusts are the easy way to go. That doesn't make you lazy at all, believe me!

Good morning
I vote for a fruit or cream pie. I don't blame you for buying the crust. These days store bought is just as delicious as the homemade. I am making a chocolate pie, two pumpkin pies, and a cheesecake. I serve mine with chilled whipped cream. Baking and cooking a large meal for thirteen people is a lot of work, but I only have to do it a few times per year, so I plan ahead as much as I can.

I vote for pecan pie, because it's succulent and I can justify the
healthy impact of the pecans, never mind the sugar and butter... And it's delish with either ice cream or whipped cream. I hope your friend does well after her fall. She has lost entirely too much weight, IMHO, and if the new home has a nutritionist on staff, that will be a good thing. Have a wonderful day shopping.
