Absolutely true! They sound like they were so wrapped up in their own self-importance that they forgot where their feet were located: on the ground.

You certainly got that right. I loved learning so much i kept doing courses at Uni. for 7 years. I met a terrible lot of Profs. there who actually had no idea about the world outside of the University and even then most only understood the subject they were teaching.
