Good morning
This is such a cute story, but I feel so sorry for Tommy. I hope that he catches her eye and she forgets about all of the other turkeys.

Mother kept turkeys on the farm and sold a few of the males at Christmas time. We always ate a hen Turkey because a big male was too much for us.

There was a big henyard on the farm, maybe a hundred chickens, most of
them laying hens, and one or two roosters who opened up each day for us with their crowing. Most rooster chicks that hatched ended up in frying pans when they grew up, and the hens were put to work producing eggs for market or for the family. I never managed to gather the eggs without getting pecked on the hand.

Fun Read! It reminded me of the year a wild turkey frequented the woods across the road from my place. Hulda I named him/her...I didn't even know whether the turkey was male or female. LOL. I found out it was male and I had give it a female name. LOL. He came out of the woods and crossed the road and came to see me every day for about a year and then he went away.
