Re:

FSI, I hope I like this electric blanket.  I'm a freeze baby and I always want to be warm.

I had an electric blanket when I was a kid. A great investment it was. When I moved into my house, I didn't take it with me. I intstead went with lots of covers.

Re:

Taps, we are expecting rain this evening.  Roy's been trying to get all his work done outside before it comes.

Re:

adnohr, our weather is going to change too but I'm not sure when we are getting snow.  The sale you got on butter was awesome.  I'm still looking for sales around town and hopefully the closer we get to Thanksgiving the more sales I will find.  I really need more butter.  Every recipe I make has butter in it.

Re: I had a down comforter on my previous bed, a full-sized one. But my

Pat, I thought about giving my comforter away but then I thought of the children and I'm going to share it with them when they sleep over.

Re:

Kabu, when we lived in our apartment I can remember going to the store and spending $35.  We got a lot of groceries that week and it filled up my pantry.  Things are different now and we have to bargain shop for everything.  The breadcrumbs that I've used for years for Thanksgiving have gone way up.  Our Thanksgiving dinner is going to be very expensive.  I want to buy two turkeys.  One is for my son's house and one is for our house.

Re:

C_C_T, we found a place that does soil testing so I'm excited to see what nutrients we need to add to our garden for next year.  We love home-grown vegetables and I think we will have to grow more than ever next spring with the economy like it is.

Re: Good afternoon

Sherri, grilled burgers sound so good to me.  I hope you enjoy your time with your family and have a good weekend.

It rained, rained, rained hard here all day, cold rain.  My company arrived soaking wet and the first thing we had to do was get them dried out before we could enjoy the company.  Hot tea helped get them situated.

Warm weather here too, but they tell us the end next week will be the complete opposite, with snow and plunging temperatures. My gang like tacos too, although they prefer fajitas, especially when made with chicken. Another quick and easy meal. I was lucky - a month ago there was a sale on my favorite butter - 3.49$/pound. There was a limit of 3 to a customer, but I went back more than once and had others pick some up for me too. Now there are 12 pounds snug in my freezer.

I had a down comforter on my previous bed, a full-sized one. But my

new one is a twin, so that giant comforter is way too big for it. I'm going to have it professionally cleaned, and would like to find someone to re-size it to fit the smaller bed because it was so reliably just warm enough. If I can't get it cut down a bit, I may donate it to a shelter.

Butter and eggs are getting dearer and dearer. Back in the 60's and early 70's I spent no more than $20.00 a week on groceries. yes I did have my home grown eggs and the odd Turkey and duck to kill and cook. lamb as well so those things certainly helped but then I also bought shoes and baby things for the little ones out of that $20.00

It does seem that everything is going up at a fast rate. Perhaps more folk will try to grow some of their own vegetables, if they have the ground to do so.

Good afternoon

We have been putzing around in the yard today too. I did my laundry and it is all hanging outside now. That is a lot for butter. Ours is running at $4.96 for a pound. I will use it in my stuffing and my potatoes. Grocery prices are out of control. It's a beautiful day here too. We are planning on grilling burgers tomorrow since our middle daughter and her hubby will be visiting. I am loving this warm weather. Better enjoy it while you can. Have a great weekend!
