I would not think many remember back more than five or six years. You probably do
because it is slotted into your own personal recorder. I remember you wondering if
you would get on alright with your son when you moved into your new home. I
remember you having a mock fight with a young guy, because it was a photo.

How could you avoid putting your own personality into a story?
The thing is, that bit of you is role-playing. She can do lots of things you have too much grace and wisdom to try for real. Your readers are not likely to recognize those places and times your character inhabits as being "you." It'll be all right.
