Good to know. I had read that if you elevate your feet before going to bed then the fluid drains downward and out and less having to get up in the middle of the night.

I have a thermos of water on my night table and when I wake during the night (often...and yes to go to the bathroom) I guzzle some water down. I can't imagine what it would be like to live in a place where clean drinking water is not readily available, and so many people do have to live that way.

I drink about a gallon of water a day. If I don't hit it, I feel thirsty...Great heart attack advice there.

Just a little add-on - the caffeine in coffee stimulates the kidneys

so drinking coffee a bedtime is not a great idea. It also keeps you awake. But the advice on water & when to drink it seems absolutely right to me.  Thanks!
