She never did say that. I'm not sure what the exact phrase she used. I'm waiting as well.

I remember back in the late seventies he and his wife were in all the Women's magazines and they both seemed to be twits, a shingle short of a roof, too much money and no understanding of how to handle wealth with some dignity.I never bought the magazines; used to read 'em at the hairdresser. Well she is permanently on the gof course now and himself ????? just gets worse and worse.

There does seem to be some kind of kinship between the two.  I'd hate to have to be Donald Trump's cook.  I'll bet he would be hard to please.

Good Morning

Pat, this is a good post.  I'm waiting for the elections to see if anything changes.

Good morning

This is a great post, and even though it is from another time, it paralells with our world today. History often has that way of repeating itself. Waving away the issues of the world has stood the test of time with those who are in charge of our well being. The leaders will never know the true sacrifice until they experience it themselves.

Marie Antoinette was a silly girl when she married the Dauphin of France, and still frivolous when she became queen. But evidence is that she could have matured into a sensible woman and a better queen, once she tuned in to the realities of the country.  For the record, what she actually said was, "...let them eat brioche." This, according to my high school French teacher who was, in fact, French.
