seems a good idea to me. Funny enough the deer never ate my flowers. They would eat the neighbors but in Canada they left mine alone. I let them have the apples on the wild trees on the property as I left them for all animals.

Re: Sea_Gypsy, they eat mine too. It's my own fault though.
Not only do we live near the river in a wooded area, I leave corn, seed, nuts, and other treats out in the yard for the animals. Once it's gone, they hunt for other substance. This year they got John's Tiger Lillies and one of my hanging plants.
