Re: Sea Gypsy
That really amazes me, we really use our freezer more than the fridge but then we are not into cooking experimentally.

Re: adnohr
I don't know why but we now have three freezers in the garage and one fridge freezer indoors. I guess that was a blessing to have a source of food stored for the villagers.

What an interesting poem! Very nice. And no, I didn't know that about freezers. I have always wanted one and have never had one, nor did my parents. Darn.

Good morning
That is quite a woman. I'm sure that she loves the rows of white roses, I know that I find them to be gorgeous.

Good morning
I didn't know that about freezers. Spoiled food is costly, so this is good to know.

I didn't know that about freezers. With my unattached garage, it doesn't make sense for me to have on there.

On the farm we had an icebox, and a huge pile of sawdust near the woodshed that kept things on ice even during the summer. There were huge freezers in the village, and each one was labelled with a name, and rent paid monthly, where any of the farmers' meat was ticketed and picked up as needed. Nowadays, with my gang in and out for meals, I have 2 freezers and 2 fridges with half freezers. Things get lost in there sometimes, but hopefully not for 17 years!

Re: Good Afternoon Goldiec
I think that would be fine, some garages are only asbestos. I had to smile once a woman who was a bit of a pain brought me a turkey she said she found it at the bottom of her chest freezer, it had been there since she moved in seventeen years ago. I cannot remember what happened,

Funny though one would have thought the colder the better. Well perhaps it was Technicolor .

I suppose in those days one just ate what came along, no iced cokes.

Thinking about the past; neighbors had an ice box. We had a Kerosene run 'fridge but before I was born they just had a safe hanging in a tree. Couldn't keep anything fresh for long in the Australian Summer heat.

I think your poem is describing "Persephone" by Thomas Hart Benton, our famous Kansas City, Missouri painter of the past:

I don't have an extra freezer - no need for it for just one person.
But I can see where it would be a problem if the garage or shed were not well-insulated and kept warm enough. Interesting that one's muse could change the color of flowers.

Good Afternoon
We have a freezer in our back room and there's no heat back there but everything has been good up to this point. I always worry about it though. It is a stand-up freezer. We used to have a chest but I like this one much better.
