I am sad for you about your soap. My word but it has gone on for so many years. As for home reno....I too like them but I thought the furnishings stayed. Oh well never mind. I wish someone had been able to come here and renovate a room in two days.

Re: TAPS
This must be way better than the commercial productions. Maybe they'll make it to HGTV or MAGNolia network one of these days. I'd watch it.

Re: Good afternoon
Me, too, Sherri. I know a lot of it is staged - and I'm guessing some of the cost is covered by the production company that hires the film crew and sells the show to TV networks.

Good afternoon
I think that there is quite a bit of staging when it comes to those rehab hosts actually doing the grunt work. I enjoy watching a few of them, but the cost of some of the homes and the rennovations literally blow me away.

I watch the real thing on youtube. It is interesting to me because it is extended family and I know everyone involved personally. They bought an old house and land out in the north country of here and are completely re-doing the old house while they live in a house trailer. They are also doing videos of what they do:

Re: Good Morning
Goldiec, I agree with you about the high cost of cable - but I'm not tech savvy enough to switch - I've got internet with my cable provider, so for now I'm not messing with it.

Good Morning
Pat, I love the remodeling shows. Although I will say that when they are done the house looks like a picture-perfect place and my house looks lived in. I'm like you and I like to see the process of getting to the finished rooms. They rip out walls and bring in electricians, carpenters, and home improvement specialists and all I've got to say about that is who's paying the bill. These repairs cost money and someone's going to pay for it. They are fun to watch though. We got rid of our cable because it was costing way too much money and now we have Hulu and Netflix. I'm pleased with both of them and we save a lot of money. My cable bill was up to almost $300 and that is just not acceptable. Sometimes I miss cable but not enough to pay the bills.
