Interesting how things and rituals change. Perhaps some kids today think it it too much agro to collect a few sweets.

it never took off in Australia, altho these days i believe there are parties organised for young people.

Good Afternoon

Sherri, I enjoyed reading this post.  I've learned something new today.  I've always thought Halloween was fun for the kids.  I enjoyed it when I was in school too.  We have this big skeleton that we hang outside but I'm not going to put it up this year.  We got it from a garage sale.  I love Halloween decorations.  I want to get some pumpkins so I can put them on the front porch and when Halloween is over I want to take them to the woods for the animals.

It was fun when I was a kid, and neighbors were so generous then

we had candy to last until the Christmas season as long as we didn't gobble it... Maybe that's what they mean by hobgoblin - someone who doesn't ration it out over time.
